In a fast-paced and fragmented world, spiritual exercises become a place of rest for the soul. They are a time to return to what is essential, to listen in silence, and to allow hope to renew the heart. Jesus invites us to this inner rest when He says: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest… you will find rest for your souls” (Mt 11:28–30).
The Franciscan Fraternity of Hope offers retreats and spaces of prayer where each person can pause, breathe, and rediscover God. We do not seek large structures or rigid programs; our proposal is simple, deeply Franciscan, and open to all who desire a more intimate encounter with the Lord. In these days of silence, the Word, contemplation, and fraternity become paths of inner renewal.
Spiritual exercises are a true school of the heart. They help to order life, to discern with serenity, to heal wounds, and to rediscover the joy of the Gospel. Each retreat is an invitation to let oneself be seen by God, to listen to His voice, and to walk with greater freedom. As Saint Anselm said: “Leave aside for a while your occupations… give some of your time to God, and rest in Him.”
Our Franciscan tradition teaches us that God speaks in what is small, humble, and quiet. For this reason, the spiritual exercises we offer are lived in an atmosphere of peace, simplicity, and deep trust. Some retreats are oriented toward contemplation, others toward daily life, others toward inner renewal or spiritual accompaniment. All seek the same thing: to open a space where God can touch the heart.
Beyond any spiritual benefit, what is essential is the encounter with Christ, who consoles, strengthens, and renews. In these times of noise and distraction, spiritual exercises are a gift: a place where hope begins to blossom again, where life becomes illuminated, and where the soul learns to rest in God, like a child in its mother’s arms (cf. Is 66:13).
