Franciscan Fraternity of Hope

Vocation

Vocation is a mystery of love. God calls each person by name and invites them to walk a unique path where life becomes a response. In the Franciscan Fraternity of Hope, this call is expressed as a deep desire to live the Gospel with simplicity, fraternity, and hope, following Christ in the spirit of Saint Francis and Saint Clare.

Franciscan vocation does not arise from human effort but from God’s initiative. He touches the heart, awakens a desire for self‑giving, and opens a new horizon. Those who feel this call discover within themselves an attraction to prayer, fraternal life, evangelical simplicity, and humble service. It is an invitation to be transformed by God’s love and to become a sign of His presence in the world.

Vocational discernment is a path of listening and truth. It is not about seeking immediate certainties, but about learning to recognize the voice of the Spirit in daily life. The fraternity offers a space of silence, accompaniment, and prayer where each person can discover their path with freedom and serenity. Retreats, spiritual direction, and shared life help clarify the deepest desires of the soul.

Initial formation is a time of human and spiritual growth. The first steps in the fraternity allow one to experience Franciscan life from within, to learn to live in community, to cultivate prayer, and to discover the beauty of this way of life. It is a time of maturation, purification of the heart, and openness to grace. Formation continues throughout life, because vocation is a gift renewed each day.

Within the fraternity, some brothers and sisters may feel a particular call to certain spiritual or pastoral services. This call does not separate them from the community; it becomes integrated into it as a concrete way of serving. But the fundamental vocation of all is the same: to live the Gospel with a simple, fraternal, hope‑filled heart.

Franciscan vocation is, ultimately, a love story between God and a heart that allows itself to be called. It is a path of joy, inner freedom, and trusting self‑gift. And it is also a gift for the world: a witness that hope is possible, that God continues to call, and that a life offered to Him becomes a luminous sign of His presence.
